For all you Nuke workers, there is an outage which will be hiring within three weeks at Nine Mile Nuclear Plant which is located in Syracuse Territory. They will be hiring approximately 90 insulators for this outage.
There is an outage at Callaway Nuclear Plant in Saint Louis Territory which is forming a list now for the outage which is a month away.
Anyone who is interested in working at one of these outages needs to call our hall and have your name put on the list of the outage you want to work on.
As we all know, even if you are told the job you want is filled, No job is filled until just before the hire date. There is always a good chance of people canceling for one reason or another. When that happens, spots open up so don't give up until the call out happens and you don't get the call. This advice comes from a thirty year nuclear worker who has been on both ends of the call out scenario as the one waiting for an opening and the one placing the call out.
The job in Idaho has been pushed back indefinitely so you should probably set your sites else were.
As of now, there is no news on the job in Hawaii.
It seems the hold up in Canada is a shortage of electricians to install the electric tracing on some of the pipes so they are not ready for a full push on that job. We will update this report as soon as we get word from Local 110 in Edmonton.
I am having difficulty convincing Fred to do a video blog so any one who would like to see your business manager telling you like it is needs to let him know how you feel about it. As it is now, we are the only local in the international with the ability to do video blogs.
